Meanwhile a plastic litter box sitting directly on the floor traps moisture underneath it. The Magic Carpet® is a firm needlepunched polyester mat with a patented pass-through wicking core. Liquid moves through the surface and spreads across the middle layer. Granules stay on the top surface and shake off.

Does litter stick to it?
Granules sit on the surface of the dense felt and shake off. It is not a deep pile, so litter does not bury in it.
What about odor?
Urine that soaks into the mat needs to be washed out. A mat that takes a miss should be washed that day and air dried. This is what the 2-pack is for.
Is it safe for cats?
It is a single needlepunched polyester textile with no chemical binders, no foam, and no loose fibers.
