Why most dog crate pads fail

Foam crate beds soak up an accident and hold it against your dog. Plastic crate liners keep liquid on top where it gets walked through and pushed out the door. Towels bunch up in the corner by morning. The Magic Carpet® is a firm, flat needlepunched polyester mat with a patented pass-through wicking core. Liquid moves through the surface, spreads across the middle layer, and stays off the top where your dog rests.

It is strong and puncture-resistant, so digging and nail scratching do not shred it the way they shred foam. It lays flat edge to edge on the crate tray and stays put.

Magic Carpet® comes in seven sizes. Measure the inside floor of your crate tray and choose the size that fits inside it. The chart below covers the most common wire crate sizes.

Crate floors vary by brand, so check your tray before ordering. The mat should sit inside the tray lip with a little room on each side. For crates smaller than 22 inches, measure the tray and pick the largest size that fits inside it.

Is the Magic Carpet® dog crate mat waterproof?

No, and that is the point. A waterproof mat holds liquid on the surface. The Magic Carpet® pulls liquid into its core so the surface your dog lies on is not sitting in a puddle.

Will my dog chew it?

The mat is a dense compacted felt, not a foam pad or a stuffed bed, so there is nothing to pull apart and no filling to spread around the crate. It is strong and puncture-resistant. No mat is chew proof for a determined chewer, so supervise a new puppy the first few nights.
